LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man was killed early Halloween morning on I-64 after fleeing a crash scene, according to authorities.
Louisville Metro Police reported that the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the Spaghetti Junction area. The driver, identified as Christian Shively, rear-ended another vehicle and exited his car in an attempt to escape the scene.
While fleeing, Shively was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene, and authorities stated that no charges are expected.
The coroner ruled Shively's manner of death as an accident. Emergency responders arrived to manage the situation, but unfortunately, Shively succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather details about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
