Driver Charged in Deadly Crash After Running Stop Sign

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A driver has been charged following a fatal crash in the Algonquin neighborhood on Monday evening.

Airel Taylor, 25, is facing multiple charges, including vehicular homicide while under the influence of drugs and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She is currently held at Metro Corrections on a $100,000 bond.

The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of West Lee Street and McCloskey Avenue, according to authorities. Taylor allegedly ran a stop sign, colliding with a Mustang. The driver of the Mustang, a male, died at the scene, and his identity has not been released.

Emergency responders arrived promptly; however, the collision resulted in significant injuries. The ongoing investigation may lead to further developments.
