Man Charged with DUI After Vehicle Catches Fire Following Crash, Police Report.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Ephrata police charged a 49-year-old man with DUI after a crash on April 15.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:13 a.m. in the 800 block of East Main Street, Ephrata Township. Christopher Ulrich was driving a Wrangler when he struck a crossing sign, subsequently crossing over the center median and igniting a fire in the vehicle.

Authorities reported no injuries to Ulrich, who displayed signs of impairment following the incident. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol concentration at .168%, more than double Pennsylvania's legal limit.

Ulrich faces two DUI misdemeanors and three traffic citations, according to online court records. He is currently awaiting his preliminary arraignment.
