LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A 49-year-old man faces charges for driving under the influence after a crash in Ephrata Township on April 15.
The incident occurred around 12:13 a.m. in the 800 block of East Main Street. Christopher Ulrich, driving a Jeep Wrangler, struck a pedestrian crossing sign and crossed into the center median.
The vehicle subsequently caught fire following the collision. Ulrich was uninjured but showed signs of impairment, according to police.
A breath test revealed Ulrich's blood alcohol concentration at .168%, over twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania.
He has been charged with two DUI misdemeanors and cited for three traffic violations. Ulrich is awaiting his preliminary arraignment.
