One man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Benton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that a 1997 GMC was traveling south on Hastain Avenue when the driver lost control and struck a tree just south of Mulholland Road at 8:15 p.m.
A 31-year-old male passenger from Climax Springs, Mo., was injured in the incident and was airlifted by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The road was temporarily closed while first responders assessed the scene, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
