Four Injured in Callaway County Single-Vehicle Accident
CALLAWAY COUNTY, MO — Four individuals were injured in a single-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning on Highway 54.
Troopers reported that a 2025 Jeep Compass was traveling west near Route BB at 5:59 a.m. when it ran off the right side of the roadway, ascended an embankment, and struck a tree.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a 4-year-old girl sustained injuries, while a 6-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl suffered moderate injuries. The 35-year-old female driver from Jefferson City suffered serious injuries in the crash.
All occupants were transported to University Hospital for further treatment. MSHP confirmed that the children were wearing seatbelts; however, the adult driver was not.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
