Lynnfield, MA – A 19-year-old male driver died following a crash into an Interstate 95 overpass early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. when a BMW 330xi was traveling on Main Street, veered off the roadway, and struck the overpass, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Emergency responders transported the driver to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
Lynnfield and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash, but no additional details regarding the cause of the accident have been provided. Authorities expect lane closures in the area as the investigation continues.
