Multiple-Vehicle Collision on Highway 50 Leaves Two Dead, Several Injured

A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 50 eastbound, near Exit 23, occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. today, resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved four vehicles, including a pickup truck and two sedans. Emergency responders, including local fire and ambulance services, arrived on the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while four others sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.
Authorities confirmed that the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 will remain closed for several hours as a preliminary investigation is underway. Traffic is being rerouted at Exit 20, leading to significant delays in the area.
