Juvenile Faces Charges in Two-Car Crash in Raymond
RAYMOND, ME—A juvenile is facing charges following a two-car crash on North Raymond Road on Tuesday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, the collision occurred when both drivers attempted illegal passes. A juvenile driving south in a Honda Accord crossed into oncoming traffic while simultaneously, a Lewiston woman in a Nissan Rogue also attempted to overtake a vehicle.
The resulting crash caused the Honda Accord to overturn. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
North Raymond Road was briefly closed but has since reopened to traffic. The sheriff's office has initiated an investigation into the incident.
Details regarding specific charges against the juvenile have not been disclosed, and Sheriff's Office Captain Kerry Joyce did not provide immediate comment when contacted.
