A Jefferson City woman sustained serious injuries following a personal watercraft accident on the Osage River on Saturday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 6:15 p.m. upstream from the St. Thomas access.
A 23-year-old man from Jefferson City was operating a 2021 Kawasaki STX when the watercraft struck a shallow section of the river.
The 43-year-old woman, also from Jefferson City, was ejected from the PWC during the crash.
Authorities reported that the driver left the scene after the incident.
The woman was subsequently transported to University Hospital for medical treatment.
