Iowa bus crash tragically claims the life of former Rapid City baseball player.

RAPID CITY — A former Rapid City Stevens High School athlete died Tuesday morning in a crash in Calhoun County, Iowa.

Carter Johnson, 20, was killed when the Iowa Lakes Community College baseball team went off the road and flipped near Twin Lakes while en route to Arkansas. The bus was carrying 33 passengers, with no other vehicles involved.

According to authorities, all remaining passengers sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The Iowa State Patrol is conducting an investigation into the crash.
