CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — UPDATED 6 p.m., 4/9/26
A portion of Interstate 64 in Cabell County reopened Thursday following a tractor-trailer crash that temporarily halted westbound traffic.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 9 a.m. near the Fifth Street exit, when a semi-truck went over an embankment. Emergency crews responded, blocking all westbound lanes while the truck was removed.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, according to emergency dispatchers.
Additionally, a two-vehicle crash was reported about a mile back on I-64 westbound; however, that incident has since been cleared. Emergency responders from the Huntington Police Department and Huntington Fire Department were on-site.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and expect residual delays in the area.
