MADISON (WKOW) — A Madison police officer injured in a car crash during a police chase in McFarland is recovering and may be released from the hospital soon.
Officer Ryan Kimberley, 36, and his K9 partner, Freddie, were struck by a flatbed tow truck driven by Christopher Brugger Jr. on September 27, according to authorities. As of now, Kimberley is undergoing rehabilitation and aims to continue therapy at home.
K9 Freddie visited Kimberley at the rehabilitation facility last Friday and is currently residing with another handler for ongoing training, as confirmed by Capital K9s.
A fundraiser has been established to assist Officer Kimberley during his recovery process.
