Injured drivers and two students hospitalized after school bus rear-ended in Jefferson City.

A Jefferson City School District was involved in a crash Thursday morning, leaving multiple individuals with minor injuries.

On April 16, at 7:50 a.m., Cole County first responders attended to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route T and Parkview Road, just outside Jefferson City.

A spokesperson for the Jefferson City School District confirmed that the bus was transporting middle and high school students at the time of the incident.

The bus, occupied by a driver and 17 students, was rear-ended by a 2009 Blazer. According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the bus was receiving a student when it was struck.

Both drivers, a 46-year-old woman from the Blazer and a 61-year-old man driving the bus, sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.

Additionally, two students—a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy—also suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospitals in stable condition. The other 15 students were evaluated on the scene by EMS personnel.

No further injuries were reported. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and lane closures were briefly enacted during emergency response.
