OWYHEE COUNTY, Idaho (CBS2) — A head-on collision on State Highway 45 sent three individuals to the hospital on Sunday, May 24, 2026, around 11:30 a.m.
According to Idaho State Police, the crash occurred at mile marker 10.4, involving a Toyota Tacoma and a GMC Terrain. The Tacoma was traveling southbound when it collided with the northbound GMC.
The 22-year-old male driver of the Tacoma, from Melba, was transported to the hospital via ground ambulance. A 45-year-old male passenger, also from Melba, was airlifted for medical care. The 35-year-old driver of the Terrain, from Meridian, was also taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.
Authorities confirmed that all individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for approximately two hours as emergency services worked to clear the site. The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
