Two Children Dead, Three Adults Injured in Woodbury Crash
WOODBURY, VT — Two young children are dead and three adults are injured following a head-on collision on Vermont Route 14 on Saturday morning.
According to State Police, the crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. involving a Toyota Corolla and a Ford F-250 near Hattie Bell Road. The passengers in the Corolla, a 2-year-old girl and an 8-year-old girl, were pronounced dead at the scene. One was secured in a car seat while the other was wearing a seatbelt. The 38-year-old driver, Jonathan Ross of Danville, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
The driver of the pickup, 60-year-old Harry Dailey of Woodbury, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) in Burlington. His passenger, 29-year-old Thomas Dailey, also of Woodbury, was hospitalized at UVMMC with serious injuries. Police reported that Harry Dailey was wearing a seatbelt while Thomas was not.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the Corolla was traveling southbound when it failed to navigate a curve, crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided with Dailey's truck, which was heading north.
Multiple agencies responded, including members of the crash reconstruction team. The investigation is ongoing. Authorities encourage anyone with information about the incident to contact Trooper Alexis Marciniak at 802-229-9191. Further details are pending.
