BROOKLYN PARK, MN — A plane crash on Saturday claimed the lives of two individuals, including a retired Mayo Clinic doctor and a North Dakota state representative.

The incident occurred shortly after takeoff on April 25, according to official reports. Dr. Joseph Cass, 65, was identified as the pilot of the small aircraft that crashed. He had served at Mayo Clinic in Rochester until 2017.

Rep. Liz Conmy, 38, who represented the Fargo area, was confirmed as a passenger in the ill-fated flight. Witnesses indicated that the two were in a romantic relationship.
