TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (KUTV) — Five individuals were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision on Redwood Road late Sunday night.
The incident occurred just after 10:00 p.m. when a Ram pickup truck, reportedly traveling south at a high rate of speed, left the roadway near 4700 South. According to Sgt. Keller with the Taylorsville Police Department, the truck collided with an Xfinity pole, which snapped and sent debris onto a nearby traffic signal before striking another vehicle in the turn lane.
The impact caused the SUV involved to roll onto its roof. The Ram pickup truck subsequently struck another car before coming to a stop. The driver of the SUV sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital, while three other individuals suffered minor injuries. A fifth person, found in the Ram truck, was hospitalized with a leg injury.
Sgt. Keller reported that the driver of the Ram and another passenger fled the scene prior to police arrival. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
