Nevada State Police (NSP) reports a fatal crash on Oct. 1, which claimed the life of 69-year-old Celsa Vivas of Las Vegas.
According to authorities, a Ford pickup truck collided with a Cadillac in heavy traffic, causing the Cadillac to strike a Lexus. Vivas was a passenger in the Cadillac, along with two others who were critically injured and transported to the hospital. The occupants of the Lexus also received hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford pickup has been arrested on suspicion of impairment, and the investigation is ongoing. Year-to-date, NSP Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 47 fatal crashes resulting in 48 fatalities.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A fatal accident occurred on the Northbound I-15 collector distributor road between Blue Diamond Road (State Route 160) and the 215 Beltway, prompting road closures as troopers continued their investigation.
According to Nevada State Police, the collector distributor road northbound is shut down due to the incident, along with the northbound on-ramp from State Route 160 (Blue Diamond). Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area.
Authorities urged the public to remain clear of the scene while emergency responders addressed the situation.
