Teenager dies in head-on crash with dump truck in Fletcher

FLETCHER, N.C. (WLOS) — A involving a small and a dump truck on Mills Gap Road resulted in the death of a 17-year-old girl from Henderson County on Monday morning.

According to the Fletcher Police Department (FPD), the crash occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. Emergency responders, including FPD officers, Henderson County EMS, and Fletcher Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to the scene.

The victim was identified as Brianna Henn, a senior at North Henderson High School. Authorities confirmed she was at the scene.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, students, and staff at North Henderson High School,” the FPD stated. “This is a terrible day for our community.”

Henderson County Public Schools expressed their sorrow in a statement, noting that support services would be available for students and staff beginning Wednesday, October 15. School counselors and social workers from the district's Crisis Team will provide care as the community mourns.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and further details regarding lane closures and towing services were not specified. The incident has raised concerns within the community, prompting outreach efforts for emotional support.
