NORTH CHARLESTON — A fatal crash on Rivers Avenue on the night of Sept. 9 prompted a closure of several lanes during an active police investigation.
The collision occurred around 9 p.m. in the 6600 block of Rivers Avenue, according to Harve Jacobs, spokesperson for the North Charleston Police Department. Authorities confirmed that the incident resulted in one fatality, and officers are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
As a result of the crash, all westbound lanes of Rivers Avenue at Eagle Drive were closed through the morning of Sept. 10, causing significant traffic delays. Emergency responders were on the scene to assist and manage the situation.
