Fatal ATV Accident on Crow Road in Veneta
A 63-year-old man from Eugene died after being struck by a vehicle while riding an all-terrain vehicle on Aug. 1 in the 26300 block of Crow Road, southeast of Veneta.
According to the Lane County Sheriff's Office, first responders arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m. Initial investigations revealed a 2010 Subaru Impreza collided with the ATV as it crossed Crow Road.
The operator of the ATV, identified as Scott Alan Kayser, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Subaru remained on-site and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities reported that Crow Road was closed for approximately three hours while the investigation took place. The Oregon State Police, Lane Fire Authority, and Lane County Trauma Intervention Program assisted at the scene.
This incident is still under investigation.
