HOLLAND, Mich. — An 83-year-old man died following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of 7th Street and Central Avenue on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. when the man, driving a Honda CR-V south on Central Avenue, entered the path of a westbound Chevy Silverado. The impact caused the Silverado to lose control and subsequently strike a Tesla.
The Silverado's driver, a 27-year-old man from Dorr, was transported to Holland Hospital for treatment. The Tesla driver and her passenger were unharmed.
Authorities noted that witnesses indicated the speed of the Silverado may have played a role in the collision. The 83-year-old victim later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to contact the Holland Department of Public Safety.
