LOWELL, Mich. — A Michigan State Police Trooper was struck by a vehicle while responding to an accident on I-96 early Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:15 a.m., the Trooper was investigating a prior crash on westbound I-96 near Alden Nash when another driver lost control on the snow-covered roadway and rear-ended the patrol vehicle. No injuries have been reported from the incident.
Authorities said the driver involved, a 30-year-old male from New York, lost control while braking. Further details regarding the driver's condition or charges have not been released.
Michigan State Police are reminding motorists to exercise caution by slowing down and moving over for emergency vehicles, especially during inclement weather.
