Eighteen-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies Following Kapolei Crash.

KANEOHE, OAHU – An 18-year-old man died Tuesday night after losing control of his and crashing into a concrete barrier.

The incident occurred around 10:59 p.m. on the eastbound Kalaeloa Boulevard off-ramp near Farrington Highway, according to the Honolulu Police Department. Witnesses reported that the rider was traveling at high speed when he struck the barrier.

Emergency Medical Services responded, treating the victim on the scene before transporting him to a local hospital in serious condition. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities confirmed the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed contributed to the accident; however, it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

This incident marks Oahu's 21st traffic fatality of 2026, in contrast to 39 fatalities reported at the same time last year. Further investigations are ongoing.
