EAST GREENWICH, RI — Firefighters rescued a driver trapped in a vehicle following a rollover crash on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. on Route 4 northbound, near the exit for Division Street. According to East Greenwich Fire Department officials, the vehicle rolled over, leaving one person inside.

Emergency responders from the East Greenwich Fire Department and Rhode Island State Police arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Firefighters used specialized equipment to extricate the driver, who has been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities confirmed that Route 4 was reduced to one lane during the rescue operation, causing temporary delays in traffic. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
