HOME TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A crash involving an electric bicycle claimed the life of a 67-year-old Edmore man Wednesday at 1:23 p.m. near M-46 on North Neff Road.
Authorities report that the cyclist exited a private driveway traveling southbound and failed to yield to a northbound SUV driven by a 66-year-old woman from Blanchard. The impact resulted in critical injuries to the cyclist, who was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
The Montcalm County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the cyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The SUV driver sustained no injuries.
North Neff Road was closed for several hours as officials conducted their investigation.
