Four Arrested in Kinston Over Two Days for Vehicle-Related Incidents
KINSTON, NC — Four individuals were arrested in connection with separate vehicle-related incidents on Friday and Saturday.
According to the Kinston Police Department (KPD), officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 1501 W. Vernon Ave. on Oct. 24 around 8:15 p.m. Police suspected impairment in one of the drivers, identified as Robert Williams, 50. He was arrested for Driving While Impaired (DWI) along with several vehicle violations, and his vehicle was seized in compliance with state law.
Later that night, around 10:15 p.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Harvey St., but the driver, Timothy Smith, 53, refused to pull over. Following a pursuit, the vehicle stopped on Rosedale Ave., and Smith fled on foot. He turned himself in at 12:23 a.m. and was charged with Felony Flee to Elude, Reckless Driving, Resisting a Public Officer, Driving While License Revoked, and other vehicle violations. His vehicle was also seized.
At 1 a.m., KPD responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a car stuck on railroad tracks. Officers arrested Andrea Walker, 25, for DWI after suspecting impairment. She faces multiple vehicle violations.
Lastly, just before 7 p.m., a traffic stop on a moped near Queen St. and Wilson Ave. uncovered that the moped had been reported stolen in 2022. The operator, Arsenio Simmons, was suspected of impairment and arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Driving While Impaired, along with additional motor vehicle violations.
Authorities continue to investigate these incidents.
