MPD Officer Recovers from Crash in Downtown
A Metro Police Department officer was injured in a crash on Main Street and Third Avenue on October 5 at approximately 2:41 p.m.
According to authorities, the two-vehicle collision involved a marked police cruiser and a sedan. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The driver of the sedan also suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene.
Emergency responders from the Metro Fire Department were on-site to assist with the incident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, which caused lane closures in both directions for approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleared.
Authorities stated that preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. No charges have been filed at this time, and further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
