SUFFOLK, Va. — A two-vehicle crash on Portsmouth Boulevard Wednesday morning resulted in one fatality, according to Suffolk police.
Authorities reported that a car rear-ended a semi-truck. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Jason Rose, 70, of Chesapeake, has been charged with DUI/DUID vehicular manslaughter, with potential additional charges pending the investigation's outcome.
The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Portsmouth Boulevard, which was closed for approximately four and a half hours during the response and investigation. The roadway has since reopened.
