Driver Arrested Following Car Crash into Massachusetts Restaurant.

LYNNFIELD, Mass. — A driver was arrested early Sunday after crashing into a restaurant on Salem Street, causing property damage and no reported injuries.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., a Massachusetts State Police trooper observed a vehicle operating erratically on Route 1 North. The driver failed to stop when signaled by police and later exited the highway at the Salem Street ramp.

The vehicle subsequently collided with School Street Foods, a Mexican restaurant located at 618 Salem St. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Benjamin Robert Pimentel of Lynnfield, was arrested and transported to the State Police barracks in Danvers for booking.

Pimentel faces multiple charges including operating under the influence, failure to stop, and negligent operation. He is scheduled for arraignment Monday at Peabody District Court.

Authorities confirmed there were no injuries reported in the incident, which remains under investigation.
