A 54-year-old woman died after a crash in Delmar, Delaware, when another vehicle ran a stop sign on August 27.
According to the Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. as the woman, driving a Kia Sportage, was southbound on Old Stage Road approaching Salt Barn Road. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of her family.
Authorities said a second vehicle failed to stop at the intersection, colliding with the Kia. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
No further injuries were reported. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene. Roadway obstruction resulted in temporary lane closures during the investigation.
