Crater Lake Highway Reopens Following Suspected DUII Crash.

MEDFORD, Ore. — An Albany man is in custody following a while allegedly driving under the influence on Crater Lake Highway on Monday.

According to the Medford Police Department, the incident occurred when the driver of a silver 2007 Land Rover crossed the center median while traveling northbound, colliding with a blue 2022 Hyundai sedan. First responders transported the 25-year-old female driver of the Hyundai to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The 56-year-old driver of the Land Rover was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), with ongoing investigations into DUII, , and potentially other charges. Authorities stated the Medford Police Department is collaborating with the Jackson County District Attorney's Office to determine appropriate criminal charges.

As a result of the accident, Crater Lake Highway is closed to southbound traffic at Justice Road, with northbound traffic restricted to one lane. Medford Police and firefighters from the Medford Fire Department and Jackson County Fire District 3 are on scene. The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team has responded. The duration of the road closure remains undetermined.
