Driver Killed, Two Passengers Injured in New Haven Collision
NEW HAVEN, VT — One driver was killed and two passengers were seriously injured in a crash on U.S. Route 7 on Monday evening.
At approximately 7 p.m., troopers responded to a collision at the intersection with Lime Kiln Road. A totaled Nissan Altima was located at the scene, according to Vermont State Police. The driver, Sabrina A. Prim, 32, of Vergennes, was pronounced dead on-site.
Her passengers, Frances V. McDowell, 40, and Crystal L. Mayo, 42, both of Ferrisburgh, sustained serious injuries. McDowell was transported to Porter Medical Center, while Mayo was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Authorities reported that Prim was not wearing a seatbelt, whereas both passengers were secured.
U.S. Route 7 was closed for about three hours for an on-scene investigation. Vermont State Police received assistance from the Vergennes Police and Fire Departments, Addison County Sheriff's Department, Middlebury Police Department, New Haven Fire Department, Bristol Rescue Squad, Middlebury Regional EMS, and MiddState Towing.
