Amesbury Police Chase Ends in Fatal Crash; One Dead, Multiple Charges Filed

Amesbury, MA—One person was killed and several individuals face charges following a police chase that ended in a crash on Monday night.

According to authorities, Yenciel Soto, 18, of Lawrence, attempted to flee when officers initiated a stop for . Police pursued him until he crashed at the intersection of Elm Street and Route 110. A backseat passenger, identified as 24-year-old Beiker Alexander Guerrero Perez, was from the vehicle and subsequently struck by another . He succumbed to his injuries.

Soto was arraigned on Tuesday in Newburyport District Court, where he pleaded not guilty to several charges, including motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, trafficking heroin, and more.

Prosecutors indicated that another occupant, 24-year-old Felix Agramonte, also of Lawrence, pleaded not guilty to trafficking heroin and distributing cocaine. Additionally, 29-year-old Iran Soto-Custodio has been charged with heroin trafficking, though details regarding his case remain unclear.

Both Soto and Agramonte were ordered held without bail pending dangerousness hearings scheduled for May 12. Soto's bail in a separate case was revoked as he awaited trial on June 3 in Lawrence District Court.
