TAMPA, Fla. — A car crash early Saturday morning in Ybor City resulted in four fatalities and over a dozen injuries, triggering a community vigil later that evening.

According to Tampa Police, a vehicle struck Bradley's on 7th Avenue, a popular venue in the historic district, causing tragic loss and injuries. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as emergency responders arrived to assist.

Aubrey Cushing, a Tampa resident at the vigil, expressed the shock felt by the community: “You don't want to wake up to that call or that text.” The gathering attracted more than 100 attendees, who came to honor the victims and support their families.

Richard, a survivor, emphasized the negligence behind the incident, stating, “A young man who was not capable of making good decisions decided to get behind the wheel.”

Tampa City Council Chairman Alan Clendenin addressed the crowd, noting the emotional impact on a community known for its inclusiveness. Attendees voiced frustration over the need for improved pedestrian safety measures.

Armando Edmiston, a local business owner, called for accountability from those responsible, urging, “I think they need to seek out all legal remedies.”

The vigil proceeded with a somber atmosphere as attendees honored the victims while also pushing for action to prevent future tragedies.

The suspect involved is expected to appear in court Sunday morning. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the ongoing investigation.
