Families of American Eagle Flight 5342 Victims to Hold Press Conference in D.C.

WASHINGTON (7News) — Relatives of passengers killed in the January 29 mid-air collision involving American Eagle Flight 5342 will hold a press conference Tuesday at the National Press Club.

The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will feature family members, including the relatives of 40-year-old Casey Grafton, who was aboard the flight when it collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport. In total, 67 people died in the crash.

Attorneys representing the families will also attend the conference. This announcement comes several months after the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) conducted hearings in July to investigate the incident, focusing on the Army helicopter and air traffic control protocols.

The NTSB’s final report on the crash is anticipated to be released next year.
