One man was killed in a crash late Tuesday night in Audrain County.
The Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) responded to the incident around 11:30 p.m. on West Monroe Street in the 1500 block. A 34-year-old man from Centralia was driving a 2006 Ford passenger vehicle eastbound when he crossed the center line and collided with a 1999 Freightliner tractor-trailer transporting soybean meal, authorities said.
The driver of the Freightliner was uninjured. However, the Centralia man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MPSD.
Traffic in the area was disrupted until approximately 4 a.m. as the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
