Car crashes into home on Page Street in Avon, Massachusetts.

A sedan crashed into a home on Page Street late Wednesday, prompting an investigation by local authorities.

The impact pushed the front door out of its frame and caused significant damage inside the residence. Two occupants of the vehicle, a male driver and a female passenger, were transported to a hospital as a precaution.

According to witnesses, the force of the crash shattered windows and knocked over furniture. Homeowner Donna Uminski described the noise as comparable to a plane crash, mentioning broken glass scattered throughout the kitchen.

Uminski noted that this incident marks the fourth time a vehicle has struck near her home, destroying a cherished china cabinet filled with family heirlooms. “It's sad because they're memories, but it's just glass everywhere,” she said.

Authorities reported a trail of debris leading from the scene across Uminski's yard to the neighboring property. Man DeSousa, the next-door neighbor, indicated that the situation could have been more severe had the hit nearby trees.

Avon Deputy Police Chief Chris Bartolotta confirmed that the driver is facing charges, including negligent operation and marked lane violations. Investigators are assessing the situation for potential additional charges as inquiries continue.
