MCLEAN COUNTY, N.D. — A crash on Highway 37 claimed the life of an 88-year-old man on Friday, Nov. 28, around 4:55 p.m.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Gordon Lindquist of Bottineau was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry east on Highway 37 when he stopped at the intersection with Highway 83. He proceeded into the intersection and was struck on the driver's side by a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz traveling south, driven by 32-year-old Liana Bachar of Tioga.

Lindquist was not wearing a seat belt and was at the scene. Bachar sustained injuries and was transported to CHI St. Alexius Health in Garrison for treatment. Authorities are investigating potential charges against Bachar.
