MCLEAN COUNTY, N.D. — A crash on Highway 37 claimed the life of an 88-year-old man on Friday, Nov. 28, around 4:55 p.m.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Gordon Lindquist of Bottineau was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry east on Highway 37 when he stopped at the intersection with Highway 83. He proceeded into the intersection and was struck on the driver's side by a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz traveling south, driven by 32-year-old Liana Bachar of Tioga.
Lindquist was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bachar sustained injuries and was transported to CHI St. Alexius Health in Garrison for treatment. Authorities are investigating potential charges against Bachar.
