Highway Patrol identifies victim of fatal crash southwest of Dickinson.

DICKINSON — A fatal crash occurred southwest of Dickinson late Thursday, resulting in the death of a 44-year-old man.

Authorities identified the victim as Jason Bird of South Heart. He was found deceased at approximately 11:03 p.m. on October 30 when a passerby discovered a crashed 2002 F-150 in a ditch at the intersection of 48th Street Southwest and 122nd Avenue Southwest.

The specific time of the crash remains under investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that the vehicle was traveling northbound on 122nd Avenue Southwest at an unknown speed when it lost control, entered the ditch, and rolled over. Bird was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and sustained fatal injuries, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Emergency responders included the Stark County Sheriff's Office, Dickinson Ambulance, and Dickinson Rural Fire Department, who aided at the scene. No additional injuries or details about the crash have been reported.
