Charlestown Hit-and-Run Suspect Surrenders After Leaving Pedestrian Critically Injured
CHARLESTOWN, MA — A man sought in connection with a hit-and-run incident that critically injured a pedestrian turned himself in to police on Friday, according to Boston Police.
Luis Serrano, 28, of Roxbury, surrendered at the downtown police station, facing charges of assault to kill. The incident occurred Thursday evening around 7:05 p.m. on Bunker Hill Street near Trenton Street, where Serrano allegedly fled the scene after his vehicle became lodged in a fence.
Emergency responders from Boston EMS transported the injured person to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities reported that witnesses indicated the driver and the pedestrian had an argument prior to the collision.
Serrano is also being cited for reckless operation of a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. He is scheduled for arraignment in Boston Municipal Court.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Serrano has legal representation. Police have not disclosed details regarding the nature of the argument that preceded the crash.
