ROCKFORD, Ill. — A late-night crash resulted in the deaths of an 18-year-old driver and her 14-year-old passenger on January 17.

Shortly after midnight, Rockford Police reported a traffic incident in the 600 block of N. Mulford Avenue, advising the public to avoid the area. Both the 18-year-old female driver and her 14-year-old female passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

According to authorities, around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, both teens were from their injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.

The incident is currently under investigation. No further details regarding lane closures or towing were provided.
