ROCKFORD, Ill. — A late-night single-vehicle crash resulted in the deaths of an 18-year-old driver and her 14-year-old passenger on January 17.
Shortly after midnight, Rockford Police reported a traffic incident in the 600 block of N. Mulford Avenue, advising the public to avoid the area. Both the 18-year-old female driver and her 14-year-old female passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
According to authorities, around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, both teens were pronounced dead from their injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.
The incident is currently under investigation. No further details regarding lane closures or towing were provided.
