CHESTERFIELD — A multi-vehicle crash on Route 130 resulted in one fatality and several injuries on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. involving four vehicles traveling southbound. Emergency responders, including the Chesterfield Fire Department and New Jersey State Police, arrived on the scene shortly after the accident.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and three individuals were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of those involved have not yet been released pending notification of family.
As a result of the crash, all southbound lanes of Route 130 were closed for approximately two hours while emergency crews cleared the debris and conducted an investigation. Authorities stated that the cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
