Deadly Crash in Rowan County Under Investigation
ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A fatal crash occurred on KY 519 in Rowan County shortly before noon on Tuesday.
According to Kentucky State Police (KSP), 68-year-old Donnie Smith was driving a Buck Rainier southbound when he crossed the center line, striking multiple construction barrels before colliding head-on with a parked construction truck.
Officials report that Smith was transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by the Rowan County Coroner. The individual in the parked construction truck sustained no injuries.
KSP is actively investigating the incident. No further details regarding lane closures or towing were reported at this time.
