NORFOLK, Va. — A driver was charged in a serious morning crash on I-64, which left another driver hospitalized.
Around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-64, just east of the Newtown Road exit. According to authorities, Jerome McDuffie, 25, of Chesapeake, was charged with reckless driving after his vehicle rear-ended another car. The driver of the struck vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
A third vehicle was involved in the incident; however, its driver did not report any injuries. Both McDuffie and the third driver were unharmed.
Emergency response teams attended the scene, and the crash is currently under investigation, with no lane closures reported.
