A two- crash early Wednesday morning in Stoughton, Massachusetts, resulted in one death and multiple injuries, according to authorities.

Emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 6:15 a.m. to Turnpike Street (Route 139) for a collision involving a with two occupants and a Highlander driven by a Quincy woman.

All three individuals were transported to Boston Medical Center. Michael Unman, 59, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, the driver of the , was upon arrival. His passenger, a man from Pennsylvania, sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the , who had been returning home from an overnight shift at a local hotel, regained consciousness following the incident, according to police.

The roadway remained closed for several hours while crews cleared debris and wires from a damaged telephone pole. Both vehicles were towed to a secure facility.

Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing. Initial reports mistakenly identified Unman as a Pennsylvania resident.
