Multiple-Vehicle Crash on I-70 in Denver Leaves One Dead, Several Injured
Denver, CO — On October 10, 2023, a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes, near the Morrison exit. A total of five vehicles were involved, including a commercial truck and four passenger cars.
Emergency services, including Denver Fire Department and a squad from the Colorado State Patrol, responded to the scene. One person was pronounced dead upon arrival, and at least three others were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.
The eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed for approximately three hours while emergency responders attended to the scene and conducted an investigation. Tow trucks were utilized to remove the debris and relocated vehicles.
According to officials, the cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Authorities are asking any witnesses to come forward. Lane closures are expected to remain in effect until the investigation concludes.
