A man from Upper Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County, was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 100 in Washington Township on Sept. 23, 2025, according to state police.
William Forbes, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene by Berks County Deputy Coroner Hannah Cutshaw.
Authorities reported that Forbes was driving northbound on Route 100 when his vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane, colliding with a southbound car driven by 37-year-old David A. Dewey of Gilbertsville.
Forbes' vehicle ended up on top of the southbound guide rail, while Dewey's car came to rest in the southbound lane facing west. Dewey and his 68-year-old female passenger were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest with minor injuries.
The Eastern Berks Fire Department and multiple local ambulance services responded to the incident.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
