Crash kills infant; driver faces multiple charges including manslaughter.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A 24-year-old man has been indicted on charges including negligent homicide and manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed an 11-month-old child.

According to the authorities, Justin LaClair was indicted on September 18, 2023, facing multiple charges such as first-degree assault, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and reckless conduct. The incident occurred on June 12 when LaClair allegedly struck the child and her family on Belmont Street before colliding with a pole.

The baby succumbed to her injuries a few days later at a Boston hospital. Community members organized a vigil near the crash site in remembrance of the child.

LaClair was denied bail following his arrest and remains in custody. He is scheduled for arraignment on the new charges on October 20.

Neighbors reported that the child’s father was accompanying all five of his children to the park at the time of the accident.
